Well, that was quick: No More Road to 100!
Wow!! Starting with Medium I had one main goal, and that was to have an outlet where I could write freely, share testimonies and words of encouragement that’ll reach people it needed to reach. Then I saw after, they have a Partner program and I made that my goal to try to get 100 followers by April 10 and was disappointed when I didn’t get the support from ones I was expecting. When signing in on Medium today the first article I see is from Iain Adam but it was from February. (I’ll pin the link below so you can take a read after this article) It was speaking on how focusing on monetary value and getting to 100 followers can shift your focus in the wrong places and take away from what makes you YOU! And makes you forget why you even started in the first place.
I decided to go the organic route and connect with other writers and let the readers and followers come to me naturally. They’ll come to me because they want to see what I have to say, not the other way around. This article was definitely a sign to do it organically and the readers will come! And it'll actually be readers that want to read what you have to say, not just a whole bunch of followers but no engagement or reading times. Then your work would be in vain. Quality over quantity is always the way to go and guarantees longevity which is the goal for me. I'm not downing the Partner Program but just don't let it bring you down when the followers don't come as quickly as you want. People might not support you until later when its popular to do so or when its successful, so let that audience find you now organically. Connect with likeminded individuals and provide value in your content and all of it will come effortlessly.
